Ooidonk Castle in Deinze, with a beautiful wooded park, offering guided tours to discover its hidden treasures

This castle is one of the most beautiful in Belgium. The majestic facades of Château d'Ooidonk stand in a magnificent green setting on a meander of the River Lys between Ghent and Deinze. Built in the ^16th century with a chunky medieval appearance, it still retains the elegance and cheerfulness of its Renaissance details. Still inhabited by its owners, you can discover its eventful history and hidden treasures (furniture and objets d'art) on guided tours, only in summer. Lovely wooded park, moat and large lawns. You can even sleep here!

Château Ooidonk

Lors d’une balade le long de la Lys dans la banlieue de Gand ne manquez pas le château d’Ooidonk. Nous n’avons pas pu visiter l’intérieur car il y avait un tournage de film et pour 2 € seulement nous avons fait le tour de la propriété et des magnifiques jardins. Un restaurant à l’entrée du domaine permet de prolonger la pause.
