PAM MUSEUM
Museum in Ename ideal to discover the life of the lords and servants, abbots, lay brothers and countesses.
Its history dates back to 974, when the German Emperor had a defensive post built on the right bank of the Scheldt at Ename. But the King of France and his vassal, the Count of Flanders, seized it in 1050. To restore peace, the king founded a Benedictine abbey on the ruins, which was completely destroyed by the revolutionaries. The tour takes in the lives of lords and servants, abbots, lay brothers and countesses. You can also visit the archaeological park, where the virtual walk "La Fenêtre du temps" (The Window of Time) takes place.
