You can't miss the Slegte's facade, with its superb stained-glass peacock above the bookshop window. Once inside, you'll find yourself in a five-storey palace dedicated to new and used books, on all subjects and for all ages. Obviously, most of the books are in Dutch, but you'll also find sections in English and French. If you're lucky, you'll come across a translated version by Flemish writers, a classic by Hugo Claus or a more contemporary novel by Tom Lanoye or Lize Spit.
