Annick De Splenter's dream was to restore a brewery to the city of Ghent, and now she's done it with Gruut. What's special about this brewery is that Annick's beers are not flavored with hops, but with gruit(gruut in Dutch), a mixture of herbs that gave the beer its taste before hops were used. If you don't have time to visit the brewery, don't hesitate to come and try one (or several, in moderation) in the room overlooking the tanks, or on the terrace, overlooking the entrance to Parc Baudelo.
