University Botanical Garden housing over 10,000 varieties of plants and species in tropical and subtropical greenhouses.

The beauty of Ghent is the constant flirtation of its narrow streets, wide squares, but in the end there is little green space in the centre. Here is a rather large one, close to the university and museums (municipal and fine arts) flanked by magnificent buildings dating from 1903 in Art Nouveau style.
