Lake Watersportbaan is an institution in Ghent. You sail on or you run around. Its surrounding is exactly 5 km! The Blaarmeersen Sports and Leisure Park is ideal for walking or sports activities. Want a day at the beach? It's also possible, like rowing, kayaking, pedal boat, surfing, sailing, fishing or even diving. The park expanded in 2011 from a forest of adventure, and young children will be happy with their own games space and skate park. The cafeteria terrace offers a beautiful view of the beach and the pond. In 2013, the Blaarmeersen recreational area obtained the Blue Flag label for its bathing pond. This means that the pond complies with a series of strict criteria for water quality and environmental management.
