SMISJE
Smiske (blond, brown, extra, Big Bayou, Winter)
First placed in the surroundings of Bruges, Johan Brandt, former graphic designer converted into the brewery field, quickly felt cramped. In 2002, he acquired an old factory specialising in lemonade manufacturing in the Flemish Ardennes, in Mater, near Oudenaarde. It took several years of work in order to convert the place and in 2009, he could inaugurate new brewing facilities.
Brasserie De Regenboog then became Smisje. New upheaval in spring 2010 when the brewer decided to make clean slate of his range which was then made up of nine beers including Wostyntje with mustard seeds, Dubbel IPA or Imperial Stout. Today, the house focuses on four permanent beers and one of season (Christmas).
