ST. HERMES CRYPT
Crypt dedicated to Saint Hermes with a secret funerary chamber with 32 columns typical of Romanesque architecture.
The Renaix crypt, dating from 1089 and dedicated to Saint Hermes, patron saint of the neurotic and mentally ill, is remarkable both aesthetically and archaeologically. Typical of Romanesque architecture, with its thirty-two columns, it is unique and harmoniously combines an intimate atmosphere with extensive views. It also contains a secret burial chamber and a well connected to bathrooms for sick visitors. The crypt is certainly one of Europe's most beautiful underground cathedrals.
