THE FOLKLORE MUSEUM
Small museum of Folklore close to the city center offering a visit to discover a unique collection with playful animations.
Feel free to walk through the door of this small museum, close to the city centre, housed in the former presbytery dating back to 1871. Through nine rooms, you will travel through time. You will discover a very well equipped kitchen (for the 19th century!), a reconstituted pub, a room furnished with furniture and religious objects. You will also learn a little more about the history of the glove. A unique collection shows the importance of this craft industry in southern Ontario between 1860 and 1950 (so we are leaving Europe!). Then pass through a period dining room and the room of Count Lamoral d'Egmont, beheaded in the 17th century in Brussels. You will leave this house with a change of scenery and an idea of what daily life was like in the past! The museum is particularly suitable for visits with children and playful activities are offered to them. And to complete this visit, nothing beats a walk in the park of the Count's castle of course!
