OUD BEERSEL
Bersalis (Tripel, Kadet), Oude Geuze, Oude Kriek, Raspberry, bzart (Lambiek, Kriekenlambiek)
The Oud Beersel brewery emerged in 1882 and brewed non-stop until 2002. After a few years of retreat, two passionate relaunch the activities in 2005. You will find today in the range an Oude Gueuze, an Oude Kriek, an amazing Bersalis Tripel of high fermentation displaying a beautiful 9,5% alc. vol. and Bersalis Kadet. Launched in 2009, the latter, also of high fermentation, presents malted and hopped notes for an alcohol volume of 4,5%. The Tripel and Kadet are brewed by Huyghe in Melle.
In 2012, another collaboration comes out, with a wine grower from Limbourg this time. This allows Oud Beersel to embark on the market of luxury beers and in this case, beers with Champagne method. A lambic of Oud Beersel is entrusted to an association of wine lovers who are in charge of bottling it and make it follow a process identical to that of champagne.
Four versions of this "bzart" were developed from products from Oud Beersel: one lambic-based, another with cherry lambic, a third one from an old kriek and a last one from an old gueuze. The loop is therefore veiled for the one nicknamed the champagne of Brussels!
