The university library in Leuven, installed in the university halls, with a Flemish Renaissance style
The university library, originally housed in the university halls, was burnt down during the First World War. It was rebuilt in 1921 in its present location, in an impressive Flemish Renaissance style. More than 3 million books are stored inside. The 63-bell carillon is located in the courtyard. The view from the top of the tower is breathtaking. An exhibition traces the history of the site.
