THE CASTLE OF BEAUVOORDE
Beauvoorde Castle, hidden in the polder plains, is a small poetic corner of Veurne. It is worth a detour to admire this elegant manor that is so well integrated into the landscape. An audioguide immersed you in the past, so you will know Arthur Merghelynck, a somewhat eccentric character who bought the castle in 1875 and restored him according to his imagination in the style of the seventeenth century. Today the castle has a unique collection of furniture and art objects. Everything has remained intact since Merghelynck died in 1908. At the shop you will find publications, postcards and regional products. The park, with its English and French gardens, encourages rest. A beautiful area of a very popular nature. Many activities are offered to young people. A family run made of games and guessing allows children to dive back into the knights' era and, above all, to search for a treasure! A very beautiful place not to miss.
