NOTRE-DAME CHURCH (ONZE-LIEVE-VROUWEKERK)
The Church of Our Lady, the pride of the inhabitants, is in Romanesque and Gothic styles, with Baroque altars and wooden statues.
The church of Our Lady, or Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk in Flemish, is the pride of the people of Damme. Built in 1225, it was extended in a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic styles. The church was continuously embellished until the 14th century when a spire was added to the top of the tower, which is now flat. From the top of the tower, you can admire a breathtaking panorama. Inside, don't miss the baroque altars from the 17th century and the wooden statues from the 13th century.

. . Damme , Brugge, Oostende . . . geen dode steden !
