YSER TOUR
The very first Yser Tower, with the Peace Gate, symbolizing the victorious peace, located in Dixmude.
The very first Yser Tower was built in the thirties as a tribute to the Flemish soldiers who died on the Yser front between 1914 and 1918. During the Second World War, many Flemish and German ceremonies were organized here. Because of the collaboration in the Second World War, the tower was destroyed. Like the phoenix rising from its ashes, the Yser Tower is the perfect symbol of victorious peace. The Peace Gate, through which you enter the tower, was built with the remains of the previous tower.
