THE DEATH BOWEL
The Hose of Death is the Belgian trench network of the First World War and its personal stories.
This place is the only Belgian trench network dating from the First World War to have been preserved in this way. It was one of the most dangerous positions of the Belgian army. Indeed, a German bunker was located only 50 meters away. This network of trenches was soon renamed the "death trench" because of the number of Belgian soldiers who fell during the enemy attacks. The site's interpretation centre allows you to discover the personal, often tragic, stories of these fallen soldiers.
