CENTRE TOURISTIQUE JULES DESTROOPER
" What if happiness was in a little cookie? " The whole story of Jules Destrooper's biscuitery is described in detail in this beautiful tourist center. More than 125 years are now being traced, with the stage setting of these renowned cookies and award winning! Part of the center is also devoted to the First World War and life during this dark period. For the small anecdote, the center teaches us that the son of the founder of the biscuitery was reformed because of illness and was forced to go home to Lo. But the raw materials that were missing, the family business was closed during that period. The young son then had the idea of printing and selling postcards! The latter showed landscapes of the region as well as typical war scenes. They became collectors' items for the soldiers sending them to their families to give news. The collection contains more than 150 different postcards! And before leaving, don't forget to go through the shop to buy some of these famous cakes!
