Built in 1905, the Yseland House is one of the last authentic fishermen's houses of the coast. It can almost be seen as a memorial to fishing in Iceland. Located at the corner of Hoveniersstraat and Lombardsijde Avenue, this pignon white house bears the name of the last navigator for the Islande of Westende. Middelkerke still has a fishing house located in Duinenweg.
