DRONKENPUT
This 200-ton "soulard's well" in Middelkerke supplies drinking water to many tourists.
Literally "The well of the soulard" is. This 19th century reservoir to supply drinking water to a growing number of tourists weighs over 200 tons. After construction, a sudden rise in the water table caused it to tilt at an angle of 12°. Attempts to straighten it failed. Since then, Middelkerke has had its own mini tower of Pisa. As you climb the stairs, you will notice the strange feeling that the confrontation between the inclination of the reservoir and the flat surface of the water causes on your balance. It's overwhelming!
