THE FLORAL CLOCK
The Leopold Park with an original floral clock, with hands covered in gold leaf, with a kiosk
In Leopold Park, built on the remains of the city in 1860, there is today an original floral clock, a 1932 work by Marcel Vanhabost. Now owned by the city, it was moved to its present location in 1963. The hands are covered with gold leaf, the bronze clock dates from 1748 and comes from the tower of St. Peter's Church. Highlighted each year by 15,000 flowers and plants, the date is changed every day during the summer. Also to be observed, the kiosk inaugurated in 1885.
