THE SAINT-MICHEL TOWER
Saint-Michel Tower, 65 m high, attached to the gothic style church, offering a panoramic view of the whole region
The Saint-Michel Tower deserves its view! After having trained your thighs by climbing the 256 steps of this 65-metre high tower, admire the panoramic view over the whole region. You can see the Kemmel and Enclus mountains as well as the Yser tower. This tower is attached to the church, dedicated to the archangel Michael, which was destroyed in 1488 and then rebuilt in a gothic style at the end of the century. In the 18th century, the tower took on the shape of an octagonal bell after the tip fell off during a heavy storm.
