RUMBEKE CASTLE
One of the oldest Renaissance castles in Belgium with the superb provincial domain of Sterrebos in Roeselare as its setting.
This imposing and majestic castle is one of the oldest Renaissance castles in Belgium. It was built between 1520 and 1535. Damaged over the centuries by the wars of Louis XIV, the French Revolution and the World Wars, it has recently been restored to its original form and has regained all its former glory. The castle is set in the superb provincial estate of Sterrebos. The park has been superbly laid out and the walks around its pond are particularly appreciated, as are those along the wooded paths leading to the castle.
