Statue of Albrecht Rodenbach, writer and poet, the pride of the city, with an opportunity to discover his bronze statue.

Albrecht Rodenbach, writer and poet, is the pride of the city. In 1875 he led a student uprising against the francization of the education system. His untimely death in 1880 put an end to this movement and transformed it into a symbol and a myth. Many references will be made to him in the following political and literary history. You can find his bronze statue created by Jules Lagae on De Coninckplein Square
