HOLY-WALBURGE CHURCH
The first church was built in the xiith century, but did not resist the Norman invasions. The project of a new church was launched in the thirteenth century. Unfortunately, the projects of this new church of Sainte-Walburge were too ambitious for the time and the cathedral that had been envisaged never saw the day because of lack of means. Of these grandiose projects, only the 27-meter high choir and the base of a tower were realized. In the early twentieth century, a neo-Gothic (transept and nef) part was added. The treasure of the church must not be missed. It includes a chair and an organ of the xviiie and beautiful examples of Flemish painting.
