NATIONAL TOBACCO MUSEUM
The National Tobacco Museum presents the history of the smoker, the snuffer and the chewer through numerous objects and illustrations
The National Tobacco Museum presents the history of the smoker, the auctioneer and the chewing tobacco through its many objects and illustrations. It brings you a magical and bizarre look at the phenomenon of tobacco. The museum has more than 12,000 collection items from the 16th to the 21st century. In the centre of the museum is a listed brick mill dating from 1800, renovated and in perfect working order. The museum also has the largest collection of tobacco advertising and packaging in Belgium. In the summer, a few experimental plantings take place near the museum. The museum dedicates a complete room to the First World War and the use of tobacco during the war. In the vicinity of the museum you can cycle the Tobacco Route (45 km). Along the way you will discover the plantations and the legacy of tobacco on the landscape.
