(My only complaint is that the road to the retreat center was not marked. It would have been helpful and comforting to have some signage along the way given that reception is unreliable.)
The center is such a perfect union of Buddhist simplicity and luxurious comfort!! They do it better than any other similar centers that I have visited.
The accommodations are spacious, lovely, clean, and comfortable, and the vegetarian food (with vegan options) is delicious and plentiful.
Check it out! Just FYI I never write these types of reviews- so it’s the real deal.
The cabins are fantastic. Sitting on the deck and lifting my head to stare at the trees periodically and then going back to my writing. So great. And the cabins were comfortable and there are walking trails and it was all just fabulous.
The facility is nestled in the redwoods with deers, wild turkeys, grey foxes roaming around. The cottages are quite spacious and luxurious. The food was amazing, the vegetables and fruits are freshly picked from the garden and I will not forget that warm home-made bread!
I was lucky to have great meditation sessions by George and Linda and kum nye (Tibetan yoga) by Carmen. The instructors are genuine and passionate, the community, including the volunteers are wonderful. While the staff is dedicated, they don't push the religious aspects of the mediation and yoga practices.
The place has a not well-known, but absolutely fascinating history.
I will highly recommend this place either you just are looking to relax and feel recharged by the nature or you are on your path to deepen your work on integrating spirituality into your day-to-day life.
