Hotel with swimming pool and friendly lounge offering superb bungalows and organic cuisine, a good address for a stay in Pemba.

The bungalows are pretty, built from natural materials and beautifully decorated, and the food is excellent and organic. The structure is simple and comfortable, with a thatched roof. Each room has one double and one single bed, a bathroom and a solar shower (fresh water when the sky is overcast). There's a swimming pool and a convivial lounge, and in the evenings you can sing by the fire in a bohemian atmosphere. Dormitories are very expensive, but if you want to explore Pemba's seabed, there aren't many other options apart from luxury lodges.

If I come back to Pemba I would stay here again, despite not being a diver - and the lodge is definitely geared towards divers. One of the main selling points for me was the fact that they have offer a dorm, i.e. cheaper accommodation than what you would otherwise find in Pemba. The remoteness was also refreshing after the hustle and bustle of Unguja.

I did not sleep at the Lodge but I took Diving lessons. Mike is an amazing instructor, he spent a lot of extra time teaching me how to dive as I was very scared at first. His patience and his passion for the sea helped me get in the Open Water. A big thanks to him for an unbelievable experience! I would highly recommend to dive with Mike.

My wife and I went to Pemba for a week and chose Swahili Divers after a recommendation from our travel agent. I can confidently say, this diving school has the highest safety standard I’ve experienced so far. We were taken care of 100% from the beginning to the end, Mike even came to meet me in person at our hotel prior the dives to discuss all certification options.

Mike and his team are incredibly thorough in all departments: pre dive planning, equipment maintenance, the actual dives and post dive. Surface intervals take place on the most beautiful small beaches, with no one else around - a highlight in itself.

I chose to do my advanced 35 and nitrox certifications while there. As a teacher Mike was extremely helpful, challenging and professional with one goal in mind: to make me the safest and best diver possible. His approach definitely changed my diving skills from the ground up.
As a tec diver himself, offering even decompression and rebreather courses, Mike‘s skillset surpasses all instructors I’ve seen so far.

Highly recommended, thank you Mike & Swahili Dive Team!

Mike and his team made this a very special stay for us. The hospitality was world class, the food delicious and the dives some of the best dives I’ve ever done. Aquarium is an extraordinary dive site with huge gardens of cabbage coral and colourful reef fish.

Tolles Tauchen, tolle Crew, gutes Essen, wunderschöner Ort.
