This event for ecologically conscious running convicts was first launched in 2015. At the time, its organizers chose the month of September and its mild off-season to bring together nearly 300 competitors. During this sporting day, the circuits are of varying degrees of difficulty, even if the queen event stretches over 100 km (maximum time limit 16h)! There is a diagonal for the strongest who can enter solo or in relays (2x50 km, the handing over of the baton is done in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer). From the Vauvert Arena in the initial edition, the finish line moved to Aigues-Mortes, offering a beautiful finale at the foot of the ramparts of the fortified town. For the (slightly) less adventurous, the programme offers 10, 30 and 42 km events. An "eco-responsible" event, the Grand Raid de Camargue guarantees a minimal impact on the grandiose but fragile landscapes it crosses, between dikes, beaches, dunes, vineyards, ponds and salt marshes.
