TAZLINA LAKE
Lake Tazlina with a 40 km long glacier a few kilometers away, with an impressive 34 km long shoreline
Discovered for the first time by a Westerner in 1848, a Russian in this case, who gave it his name, this lake is immense. The lake Tazlina also carries the name of the river which it feeds. The explorer would have listed at the time two Indian families living on its banks. The length of its banks is impressive and totals 34 km. Less than 2 kilometers from the lake is the Tazlina Glacier (40 km long), the largest glacier north of the Chugach Mountains. For this reason it attracts many tourists who come to immortalize its beauty.
