From Ilulissat, the shipping company Disko Line serves a large number of towns and villages on Disko Bay, including : Aasiaat, Attu, Kangaatsiaq, Akunaaq, Qasigiannguit, Iginniarfik, Ikerasaarsuk, Ikamiut, Kitsissuarsuit, Niaqornaarsuk, Saqqaq, Qeqertaq, Oqaatsut and Qeqertarsuaq. Although Disko Line organizes trips in partnership with travel agencies, this is the only way to travel freely in the bay without using a tour operator. Helicopters have recently been introduced to the region.
