Ruined monastery in the heart of a forest in Lefkimmi.
The monastery, now in ruins, dates from the 17th century. Its fortified tower was used as a hiding place by the monks during pirate attacks. It is surrounded by a large forest which is ideal for hiking and whose diversity of flora is surprising. Walking from Kavos to the monastery takes about an hour. With your camera: there is a view here of both Paxos and the whole Lefkimmi region as far as the ancient fortress of Corfu.
