FÊTE DE LA VIELLE
It is a real institution that this festival of the Vielle which takes place in August! If the first edition took place in Montsauche (Nièvre) on May 21, 1978, it is in 1982 that it took place in Anost in its current form. Since then, it has never ceased to attract visitors and lovers of traditional music. Each year, more than 25,000 spectators come to hear this specific music. The hurdy-gurdy is an instrument with a wheel and strings that can be found in folk music. This festival is now one of the largest French festivals dealing with folk traditions with the Festival Inter Celtique de Lorient and the International Meetings of Luthiers and Master Ringers of Saint-Chartier. The whole village is mobilized during three days for about ten concerts, dances, training courses, markets... without counting the numerous "jams" in the bars and restaurants of Anost, the young talents contest and the 2 open stages! Come and dance the "bourrée", taste the local specialities in a festive and light atmosphere, and why not in folk costumes. A festival pass allows you to fully enjoy the event.
