LA MANUFACTURE TOLIX
Access: In the industrial zone Saint-Andoche.
History: Xavier Pauchard was a French boiler craftsman installed in Bourgogne, Autun. He pioneered galvanization in France. Visionary and entrepreneur in the soul, he launched the brand Tolix in 1927 and converted to the production of seats, armchairs, stools and other metal furniture. All his creations are inoxidible, robust and stackable. The cult of the Tolix brand is quickly seen: Chair A, which is always so successful today. It was used on the bridge of Paquebot Normandie and entered the collections of the Vitra Design Museum, the Moma in New York and the Pompidou Center. It is the icon of industrial aesthetics. The company remained in the hands of the same family until 2004. The brand reborn that same year under the new direction of Chantal Andriot, former financial director of the company who bought the factory with some employees. In 2006, Tolix received the Heritage Company label for its 100% creations made in France.
Particularity: The A chair is packed, solid, lightweight, light, easy to keep, inconvenient and very aesthetic. All this at a very affordable price.
Products: Chairs (including Chair A), stools, tables.
Benefits: In this factory store, products decommissioned at broken prices, small defects in general invisible to the naked eye (small scratches, hooks…), reduction less than 20 to minus 40%.
