What other town could initiate a festival dedicated to beef than Charolles? For the past 30 years, the small town in the Saône-et-Loire region has been hosting this event, which is as much about livestock and butchery professionals as it is about gourmets and enthusiasts. The two-day event features a competition for 700 cattle, as well as a competition for the best apprentice butchers. Animations, culinary demonstrations and even a fashion show are also on offer. And, of course, there's plenty of opportunity to grab a bite to eat!
