Museum retracing the history of Charolle through various permanent collections of archaeology, architecture, earthenware, etc.
The former Sainte-Marie-Madeleine Priory, a 10th-century Cluniac site whose oldest remains date back to the 12th century, was remodeled in the 15th and 16th centuries. Awarded the "Musée de France" label in 2002 and the "Aventure Môme" label, the site houses a local history museum with permanent collections of archaeology, history and architecture, Charolles earthenware, medieval sculptures, landscape paintings and the René Davoine space dedicated to 20th-century sculptures. Guided tours are also available on request.
