CHOCOLATS DUFOUX
It was in 1960 that the Dufoux family adventure began and it was Bernard Dufoux who was the founder of this House, today at the head of a small chocolate empire. Initially based at La Clayette as a pastry chef-chocolatier, Bernard Dufoux made a name for himself with his sweet delicacies until he decided to devote himself entirely to chocolate. So it was in 1988 that the first laboratory opened and it was a year later that the Conquistador was born. A sort of 500 g barrel made from a mixture of almond praline, dried fruit, candied fruit and 66% dark chocolate, decorated with 22-carat gold leaf. So greedy, it was immediately a huge success, which continues to this day. Sliced and eaten alone or with a dessert, it is more than just chocolate. Since then, the chocolate factory has continued to grow and its reputation has even spread beyond our borders, thanks in particular to the high standards applied in selecting the best chocolate origins. The Criollo from Latin America, the main chocolate used in the creations is a rarer chocolate. In 2005, Pierre-Yves Dufoux joined his father to assist him and give a new impetus to the brand that was to become the reference brand in Burgundy. After having opened several boutiques, the house decided in 2016 to install a more functional laboratory-boutique, perfectly designed to welcome the public. Pierre-Yves is a communicator and a passionate person and he wants to share this passion with the greatest number of people. Thus, now based in Charolles, the Chocolaterie Dufoux receives and designs real little marvels. A total of 1,300 m² is dedicated to the search for new flavours in order to further improve the craftsmanship of the house, the best chocolate maker in France. Ideas flow into the creator's head and the collections punctuate the seasons and the year's key events. Alongside the workshop, a trail enables the company to welcome a public of gourmets, gourmets and amateur chocolatiers. Visits, tastings, courses and workshops, everyone can choose the formula of their choice. The beautifully designed and colourful shop area ensures that you don't leave empty-handed. Individually or in a group, come and discover all the secrets of chocolate making, the idea being to combine gourmandise and discovery.
The association with the Manufacture de Bonneterie Perrin, through Destination Chocolats Chaussettes, will not fail to seduce the curious, allowing them at the same time, to visit two beautiful companies and thus combine the thirst to learn as well as the appetite for beautiful and good things.
