In the south of the island of Cozumel, a picturesque rural festival where religious traditions and pagan celebrations are mixed.
In the south of the island of Cozumel, the village of El Cedral is famous for its festival, rich in religious and pagan traditions, paying homage to the joy of being alive and to Santa Cruz, the protector of the village's first founding families, who took refuge in Cozumel in May 1848, during the Caste War. The festival includes an agricultural fair, typical food stalls, concerts and traditional dance performances (such as the famous baile de las Cabezas de Cochino - the dance of the Pigheads!), rodeos... Picturesque!
