ÉGLISE SAINT-PAUL DE CHÂTEAUNEUF
One of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in the Brionnais
It is one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in the Brionnais region, forming a romantic picture with the castle on which it originally depended. The church is in a very expressive late Romanesque style, dating back to the middle of the 12th century, reworked in the 15th century and restored in the 19th century. Its developed architecture reminiscent of Cluny and its abundant decoration illustrate the culmination of Romanesque art in the region. Situated on a hill, its square offers a nice view on the village, ideal for a picnic!
