Decorated hotel near Universal Studios and International Drive offering comfortable rooms, free shuttle to the park
Hyatt has established itself in this tourist area, conveniently located near Universal Studios and International Drive. The place is tastefully decorated, the rooms are comfortable and the service is serious. There is a nice outdoor pool and a fitness room available. Convenient: As a Universal partner hotel, the Hyatt Place offers a free shuttle to the theme park. You can also walk to the park.

Our go to hotel! Wonderful stay. Clean with mini kitchen, 2 queen bed and sofa bed. Jordan and Naomi at the front desk took great care of us, very friendly! Good spread of complementary breakfast. All 5 star!

We LOVED this little nugget of hotel happiness. We needed a night to stay before a huge Conference that was on Disney property. The Disney hotel was full, so we spent the night here. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, the rooms were large and spacious and the vibe was very chill. The breakfast was one of the better included breakfasts we’ve had and I didn’t want to leave. When we arrived at our Disney hotel, I immediately wanted to return to this little gem. The Disney property was wayyyyy overrated compared to this Hyatt. I also liked how close we were to Universal, I-Drive and some other attractions. It was in a quiet area and I’d highly, highly highly recommend staying here.

We booked this hotel for our Universal trip based on the reviews and notes that it had recently been renovated. Unfortunately, we found our room to be worn and unclean. Specifically there was a lot of pink mold in the tub and grout, the carpet near the bed frames had a thick line of dust, there was splatters of some type of food on the wall and floor, and the vinyl flooring was so filthy it turned our socks black. Also, it is disappointing that housekeeping only services the rooms every other day of your stay. Also, this hotel allows pets which is concerning with the lower cleanliness standards.
I tried to call the front desk only to find our phone was broken. I alerted the front desk to this issue twice during our stay and it was not fixed.
The elevators were constantly an issue, one or the other was broken at any given time. This caused a traffic issue for guests and it seems the hotel is without a service elevator as staff was also waiting for the one elevator that was working. At one point we waited 17 minutes to get on an elevator after breakfast.
Parking is $18/night. We did not have a car on this trip but were still charged this fee - it took several emails to get this corrected.
Location is convenient for driving/rideshare to the universal parks but there is a ton of construction happening on the street that causes traffic and noise in the hotel. There also isn't really anything you could comfortably walk to.
Breakfast options were decent, scrambled eggs, sausage, canadian bacon, fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels, etc. No omlets, no waffle maker. The buffet area was very crowded and the staff were struggling to keep food, plates, etc. stocked. There also isn't enough tables to accommodate the number of guests at the hotel.
We travel to Orland 4+ times a year and have stayed in many hotels at this price point. We have high tier status with IHG and Hilton but decided to give Hyatt a try this time- unfortunately, we were unimpressed.

I chose this place for what seemed to be hard-floored rooms and I was not disappointed. I was told that most of the rooms are remodeled at this point which was great news with my dust allergies. There's just some carpeting under the bed and that's it.
The room had everything I expected. A mini fridge and microwave aren't always a given so that was nice. The sectional in the front part of the room was great. My only complaint was the lack of soundproofing. Despite being on the 5th floor, I heard a fair amount of noise from the bar across the parking lot until it closed. Noise in the hall was pretty audible too and being right next to the elevator didn't help. For what it's worth, my partner slept right through it.
All things considered, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily return.
