GIVRY TOWN HALL
Town hall of Givry, with stone engraved with the year 1771 on one facade and the French coat of arms on the other, Porte de l'Horloge
The Hôtel de Ville was built by Gauthey and Dumorey from 1759 to 1771 in an old city gate. Listed in 1931, it is one of the most beautiful town halls in France. On the roof, its campanile houses three bells, all of which are listed historic monuments. On the façade facing the town, the stone is engraved with the year 1771 in Roman numerals and a shield bearing the arms of Givry; on the other side of the porch are the arms of France. Remains of the ramparts are still visible next to the town hall. In Givry, you can also discover the round covered market, the fountains, the Porte de l'Horloge, which houses the tourist office, the old wash-houses, not forgetting the walks along the signposted footpaths and the Voie Verte.
