CHÂTEAU DE LA CLAYETTE
Castle restored in the neo-Renaissance style with a facade designed by Viollet-le-Duc, surrounded by a moat and a park of 30 hectares
This listed château is an architectural gem. Built in 1380, and bought in 1722 by Bernard de Noblet, from whom the current owner descends, it was, until the Revolution, the center of one of the region's most important seigneuries. Surrounded by a moat, the castle in the center of town catches the eye with its superb horse statue at the entrance. A guided tour of the exterior and outbuildings takes in the park, the main courtyard, the stables, the orangery, the 14th-century medieval kitchens and the Paray tower.
