Inaugurated in spring 2021, the Ponte 516, installed in the heart of the Arouva geopark, in an exceptional natural setting, is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world. This huge metal structure connects the two banks of the Paiva River for 516 meters. The bridge is perched 175 m high. To reach it, you have to take the Passadiços do Paiva, a wooden footbridge that follows the river from Areinho for 8 km. It is possible to do only a part of it, reaching the entrance "Pórtico de Canelas", or to park the car in Alvarenga: 1 km to the entrance of the same name.
