Mâcon house sharing generous dishes and Burgundian recipes

Masterfully redecorated in a variety of styles, including art deco, the Maison des Vins is a Mâcon institution founded in 1958 by passionate winegrowers. Tables, more or less shared to increase conviviality, and a regional cuisine of Burgundian and Lyonnais dishes are the signature of the place. When it comes to wines, the finest appellations from Mâconnais, Beaujolais and Côte Chalonnaise can be discovered at table and in the completely refurbished boutique.

Nous avons déjeuné tardivement à Mâcon alors que nous nous dirigions vers le nord en direction de La Côte d'Or ; dès que j'ai vu le nom, j'ai su que ce serait ce restaurant. Le service était correct, le cadre accueillant. Les entrées étaient délicieuses (vol au vent), tout comme mon plat principal, le ris de veau, mais l'entrecôte charolaise de ma compagne était décidément trop cuite : le saignant s'est transformé en cuir de chaussure. Comme je l'expliquais à mon amie, le charolais est l'une des meilleures viandes de bœuf, tendre et délicieuse. Je pense que cette erreur malheureuse était un cas isolé, une exception, certainement pas intentionnelle, et oui, je reviendrais dîner ici. La cuisine venait de fermer à ce moment-là, il n'était donc pas possible de renvoyer le plat. L'hôtesse nous a offert nos boissons, ce qui a été très apprécié.
