The creation of the Maconnais Beaujolais agglomeration community is very young as it is only 2 years old. Born from the merger between Macon Val de Saône and Macon Beaujolais, it now groups together 39 communes for a total of 79,000 inhabitants. In the heart of this territory there is Macon, prefectoral city of Saône et Loire, a real economic pole because of its geographical situation, because it is close to all the main roads, rivers and railways and very close to Lyon. All around the communes marked by the wine activity constitute a real tourist attraction with in particular the remarkable sites which are La Roche de Solutré or Vergisson. Thus, tourism development is one of the major axes of development that is given MBA at the end of 2022.
