The Voie Bleue from Mâcon and the Voie Verte from Charnay-lès-Mâcon offer hundreds of kilometres of safe trails.
Mâcon is the southernmost point of a superb cycling route, almost all of it on dedicated lanes. On the left bank of the Saône, the voie bleue takes you up to Chalon. Whether paved or gravelled, it's a rural route, often close to the water. From Chalon, you can continue towards the Canal du Centre, or descend via the more winding voie verte in the Côte Chalonnaise and Clunisois regions, but through vineyards and picturesque villages, with plenty of accommodation and restaurants.
