Temple built in an impressive cave at Toyapakeh, a good address for an authentic visit.

Literally "The Cave on Princess Hill", this is an important Balinese pilgrimage site dedicated to Shiva, goddess of creation through destruction. The temple is accessible if you wear a sarong, which you can rent at the roadside. After a purification ceremony, explore this 15-metre-high grotto, stretching for several hundred metres before reaching a ledge overlooking a meadow. After a hundred or so steps and passing through a narrow corridor, discover numerous places of worship in this unique setting.
