For ten days at the beginning of May, Montceau-les-Mines will be hosting the Outre-Mer en Bourgogne festival. The aim of the festival is to highlight the role played by Saône-et-Loire in the abolition of slavery. The festival also tackles the subjects of racism and living together, through music, dance, gastronomy and exhibitions. One of the highlights in 2024 will be a recital by Marie-Claude Bottius, focusing on opera and its view of "exoticism" in the 19th century.
