GOLDEN GROVE GREAT HOUSE
This is a plantation house filled with history. The house was rebuilt in Georgian style after the hurricane of 1831. It's full of beautiful antique objects and furniture. In its gardens, look for the Three Houses Stream, a creek said to have been settled by Native Americans. Above all, Golden Grove is adjacent to the Bayleys plantation (not open to visitors), where Barbados' largest slave revolt, led by Bussa, began in 1816. The insurgents were stopped by the army as they fled to Golden Grove. Note that the house can be rented.
