LE CHÂTEAU DE MORLET
The Morlet castle, a house created by Guillaume de Loges, now owned by Philippe Bouhier
Originally the house of Loges, created by Guillaume de Loges, the first lord of Loges around 1242-1248, the Château de Morlet then became the property of Philippe Bouhier, Councillor at the Parliament of Burgundy, before it passed to the Vogüé family through marriage. On 28 May 1680, Jean VII Morelet bought, through Jean Bouhier, the land and lordship of Loges and in 1700 Louis XIV, by letters patent authorizes the change of the name of Loges in that of Morelet. He gave his name to the town. The house then passed into the hands of the Louvencourt family in 1857. The gatehouse of the castle of Morlet is listed as a historical monument
