MAISON DU POULET DE BRESSE
A few leagues from Tournus, Louhans and Bourg-en-Bresse, one cannot visit La Bresse without making a gourmet stop at the Maison du Poulet de Bresse. Located just at the entrance to the village of Romenay, one cannot miss the establishment whose feathered effigy stands majestically in the garden. The Maison du Poulet de Bresse opened its doors in 1964 after obtaining the AOC de la Volaille de Bresse. In other words, it is the ideal place to taste Bresse Poultry in all its forms and plunge into an authentic setting with typical Bresse furniture and a half-timbered house, a hallmark of local architecture. On the menu, the Bresse Chicken obviously holds the top of the paving stone and you can enjoy it roasted, with chips, cream, meurette, yellow wine, chestnuts and mushrooms. There is something for everyone. The restaurant also gives pride of place to local products with fricassees of frog legs in parsley, cream and Provençal style. Something to really enjoy!
