HÔTEL-DIEU
An exceptional heritage collection featuring enclosed beds, period utensils and earthenware pots...
Unfortunately, the Musée Greuze can no longer be visited, due to a lack of funds, but the Hôtel-Dieu, with which it is linked, remains accessible. This exceptional heritage rivals that of the famous Hospices de Beaune. The enclosed oak beds and period utensils bear witness to the practices of the time. With its collection of 300 Nevers earthenware pots, the apothecary's is one of the oldest in France. Some paintings by Jean-Baptiste Greuze, the great painter born in Tournus in 1725, have been moved from the museum to the Hôtel-Dieu.
